Dining Room Ceiling Painting Ideas For Cincinnati, OH

When you’re looking to improve the look of your dining room, there are many places you might think to look, but when was the last time you looked up and gave your ceiling a good look once over?

The ceiling is an important part of the dining room and though some people are not aware of it, it’s important to periodically give it a good paint job to update the look of the ceiling and to overall make sure that it’s looking as good as possible without getting a certain dilapidated appearance to it.

If you’re going to be painting your ceiling, it’s well worth making the time to learn about how you can best do it right so that at the end of the painting project you will have a really nice looking ceiling that you can admire for years to come.

Let’s now look at some dining room ceiling painting ideas for Cincinnati, OH

1. Cleaning Before You Paint

One thing that you’re going to want to make sure that you do before you paint your dining room ceiling is to fully clean the surface that is going to be painted.

Though of course, some are going to look up at the ceiling and question why it would even be necessary to clean the surface being painted (saying that the paint is just going to cover it up anyhow) this is not at all the case.

Rather, if you don’t make sure that you clean the surface thoroughly, you’re likely going to find yourself looking at a ceiling that looks a lot like a dirty ceiling that is covered with paint – and to say the least this is not going to be a look that is going to be pleasant in your dining room.

2. Don’t Use An Overly Long Extension Pole

In the world of ceiling painting, there are two fundamental schools of thought as far as reaching the ceiling — those being that either you are going to bring yourself up to the ceiling so that you can easily reach it (through means like a ladder or scaffolding) or you are going to do something with the paint roller so that it will reach the ceiling while you are standing down below.

The best way to do the latter is to take a telescoping extension pole and use it to stretch the reach of the paint roller, but the key here is that your extension pole should ideally not be too much longer than the height necessary to reach the ceiling.

The reason that this is the case is that the more pole you have, the more weight you are going to have in the handle since a lot of it is not going to be stretching out to reach the ceiling – and having all of that weight in the handle is going to make it that much more difficult for you to handle the brush, pun not intended.

Do yourself a favor and only get the right length of a handle that is meant for a ceiling of your height.

3. The Ceiling Can Be Just About Any Color

Lastly, remember that the ceiling does not necessarily have to be white in order to be a good dining room ceiling.

There are many colors that you’re going to be able to paint the ceiling, including a number of brighter colors and even darker colors.

The key here is that you’re going to have to have the color choice up there for at least a few years (you can of course later opt to change it if you so wish) and it’s therefore important for you to choose a color that you’re going to be happy with for a good long time.
